Q: How are the daily rates calculated?
A: Daily rates are based on a 24-hour billing period starting at the time of pick-up, which means that every 24-hour period counts as one day's rental. We allow a 2-hour grace period on the returning end of your rental.
Q: How do I rent a car?
A: You will need a valid driver's license and a major credit card. If you do not have full transferable insurance on one of your existing vehicles or car rental insurance provided by your credit card, you are required to purchase our damage/collision insurance at the time the vehicle is rented. We recommend you check with these companies to be sure of coverage.
Q: Will my existing insurance cover me when I am driving a rental?
A: Yes, in most cases your existing insurance will cover your liability while you are driving a rental vehicle. We recommend you call your insurance company to be sure.
Q: Can I smoke in my rental car?
A: No - to maintain a clean fleet of vehicles for our customers, all vehicles are designated non-smoking. Smoking in rental vehicles may result in an interior detailing fee of $250.
Q: Do I need to clean my rental vehicle before it is returned?
A: Please remove any belongings and garbage upon the return of your vehicle. Note that any returned vehicle that requires excessive cleaning/detailing/deodorizing may result in an additional charge.
Q: Do I have to fill up the gas tank before I return my rental?
A: Yes. We require that if it goes out with a full tank, that you please bring it back with a full tank or you will be charged an additional gas fee to have the tank filled.
Q: Can I rent at one location and return it to another location?
A: At this time, vehicles can only be returned to the participating location you rented from.
Q: Do you have child safety seats available in your rental cars?
A: No, unfortunately we currently do not offer any child safety seats. You would need to supply your own. Please note our staff are not permitted to install child seats.
Q: Do I have to be a certain age to rent a car?
A: You must be at least 21 years old on the day of rental.
Q: If I like my rental car, can I purchase it?
A: Absolutely! If you are interested in purchasing your rental vehicle, please speak to our Rental Manager.
Q: Can I travel out of the province with my rental vehicle?
A: Yes. You have 200 free kilometers per day. An additional $0.20 cent per kilometer charge will be applied if you exceed the first daily 200km. You can purchase 200 additional kilometers per day for $20 or unlimited daily kilometers for $30. For further questions, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
Q: Are Steele on Demand car rental rates competitive with other rental agencies?
A: Yes, we are committed to satisfying current and prospective Steele Auto Group owners. We provide very competitive rates since the vehicle and the facility are part of the Steele Auto Group.
Q: Can I take the vehicle I rented outside of Canada?
A: Vehicles are not allowed to be driven outside of Canada.
Q: When can I return my vehicle?
A: You may return your vehicle at any time. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday: 7:30am to 6:00pm and Saturday: 8:00am to 1:00pm. Closed on Sundays & Holidays.
Customers returning their rental outside of Steele on Demand’s hours of operation may deposit their keys in our afterhours drop off box. Our Customer Service Agents will inspect the vehicle upon opening and advise customers of any matter that requires their attention.
